Impact of Social Media and Social Networking on Business

Social Media and Social Networking have substantially effected the way people live, do business, and how they look at technology. People have gotten accustomed to logging onto Facebook or Twitter from their computers, phones, and any other way they can reach the internet. There have also been many articles and news broadcasts about relationships being torn apart by these social networking sites. Divorces levels have risen since these sites became popular. But just because people are letting these sites take over their personal lives, are they also taking over their business aspects? I believe that they are. I know people of all walks of life who take part in these sites each and everyday. These sites not only allow people to connect with one another, they also can allow a person to gain clientèle for their business, create a business, and make money from advertising on these sites. Everyone knows there is a lot of money in social networking.

In the future, I think people will still be effected by these sites and what they can get from them. Technology is growing not slowing down. So there is no looking back for what this type of media can accomplish. Most sites are just a "fad" and they usually die off after a couple of years. Ex. Myspace. But it seems that another one always becomes more popular and takes its place. Ex. Facebook and Twitter.
